Tools: Pen & Paper, Microsoft Whiteboard
Project Type: Early-Stage Exploration
Focus: Navigation Flow, Feature Prioritization, Onboarding Experience
🎯 Problem & Goal
Before building the sitemap or wireframes for Pathific, I needed to understand how users would move through the platform—especially key flows like onboarding, chatbot interaction, and saving career progress.
The goals were to:
- Visualize how users discover and explore career paths
- Identify early interaction challenges
- Prioritize major features (e.g., career quiz, chatbot, profile saves)
✍️ Solution: Sketching the Flow
To capture the complexity of the experience, I mapped the user journey from first entry (onboarding) through decision points like chatbot queries and career quiz options.
- Included branching logic for chatbot interactions
- Sketched shortcuts to reduce friction during repeated visits
- Marked key CTA points and save states

This sketch helped me clarify user flow assumptions early and preempt navigation or information overload issues before jumping into Figma.

📈 Impact & Next Steps
✅ Aligned user flows with project goals early
✅ Clarified key platform features and dependencies
✅ Informed the final sitemap and future wireframes
💡 Reflection
Sketching gave me freedom to explore ideas rapidly and fail fast. It highlighted potential user pain points (like multi-step onboarding) and gave me a blueprint to build on visually in later design stages.
